Prepare for Kubo Training

Use this guide to get your team ready for a Kubo training hosted on Google Meet. A quick audio and room setup check can help prevent delays, echo, and microphone issues at the start of the call.

Kubo trainings are hosted on Google Meet. Before your session starts, take a few minutes to make sure your team can hear, speak, and participate clearly.

Before the training

Join a few minutes early

Join the Google Meet a few minutes before the scheduled start time so you have time to:

  1. Confirm your speakers are working.

  2. Confirm your microphone is working.

  3. Make sure the correct camera is selected, if video is needed.

  4. Check that everyone in the room can see and hear clearly.

This helps the training start on time and avoids spending the first few minutes troubleshooting audio.

Recommended setup for one person

If only one person is joining the training from their computer:

  1. Join the Google Meet from your training link.

  2. Allow Google Meet to access your microphone and camera if prompted.

  3. Make sure your microphone and speakers are working.

  4. Keep your microphone muted when you are not speaking.

  5. Unmute when you need to ask a question or respond.

Recommended setup for a group in one room

If multiple people are attending from the same room, it is usually best to have one computer connected to audio.

  1. Choose one main computer for the room.

  2. Use that computer for the microphone, speakers, and screen sharing.

  3. Have everyone gather close enough to hear the speakers.

  4. Keep any other computers muted with their speakers turned off.

  5. Only unmute the main computer when someone needs to speak.

If multiple computers in the same room have audio turned on, it can create loud echo or feedback during the training.

During the training

What not to do

To avoid audio issues during the training:

  • Do not have multiple people in the same room join with their microphones on.

  • Do not leave multiple computer speakers on in the same room.

  • Do not join from a computer that does not have a working microphone if you need to speak.

  • Do not wait until the training starts to test your sound.

  • Do not sit too far away from the microphone if your team is joining as a group.

If you cannot hear the trainer

Try these steps:

  1. Check that your computer volume is turned up.

  2. Make sure your speakers or headphones are connected.

  3. In Google Meet, check that the correct speaker is selected.

  4. Leave the meeting and rejoin if the audio still does not work.

  5. Try joining from another computer if available.

If the trainer cannot hear you

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure you are not muted in Google Meet.

  2. Make sure your computer microphone is not muted.

  3. In Google Meet, check that the correct microphone is selected.

  4. Move closer to the microphone.

  5. Leave the meeting and rejoin if needed.

Tips for a smoother training

  • Use a quiet room when possible.

  • Have your team seated and ready before the session begins.

  • Decide who will speak for the group if multiple people are attending together.

  • Use the Google Meet chat for questions if your microphone is not working.

  • Keep the training link easy to access before the session starts.
